In this course you will explore the roles and group affiliations that contribute to the identity of young adults in the United States and the German-speaking world. Through the exploration of life in German-speaking countries, you will be introduced to the principles of the German language and you will begin the long-term development of your ability to speak, understand, read and write German. Specifically, upon successful completion of this course, you will be use the German language to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  • explain how your studies, your hobbies, and your families influence your identity;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • identify and explain how German texts express culture-based value systems about identity formation;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • compare those value systems to your own view of reality;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • use technology to enhance your language development;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
